I love Remains of the Day so I’m going to check out Zevin’s book. (I also love when authors play with the narrative voice.) Posts like this make me eager to wrap up my own year-long project!
"Tomorrow..." is one of my favourite comfort reads, and it never fails to move me. That said, it couldn't be more different to "Remains of the Day". But we're all like Whitman containing multitudes; you can love a minimalist, restrained novella about the world of yesterday AND a maximalist novel that unfolds like an origami fortune-teller and comes at you through the world of pixels and video games.
