My Essay in 'Inner Life'

A trip to the beach inspires an examination of what we put at the centre of our lives.

Hi folks,

Today I’m being published by Inner Life. This is an essay I first ran here at Volumes last year, and it’s one of a few that, if I ever published a “best of”, would absolutely be in it. It was my first serious attempt at bringing a sense of storytelling to my essays, by weaving ideas into a narrative. It features Michael Crichton, Stephen King, seaside reading, and swapping a T. rex desk for pizza with your family.
