take your time, take a breath, have some of your favourite dessert.
i rarely get truly embarrassed, but exactly two times i was called into a manager’s office and i cried. i never cry, and especially for shitty part-time retail jobs. and it wasn’t really anything i believe i did wrong. maybe it was that i revealed a weakness to these people i didn’t trust or even respect. anyway, all to say, i think back and i don’t really understand my reaction in those moments. but that’s how it goes sometimes. hope you don’t beat yourself up too much about that, at least.
Yeah, man, much dessert has been had, much more will be had. I appreciate the solidarity in sharing your experience. You're right that sometimes reactions don't make a lot of sense, and I'm with you on that existential shrug — that is, as you said, just how it goes sometimes. Anyway, more dessert.
Take all the time you need, my friend. I'll be ready to talk books when you are!
Thanks so much, brother. Looking forward to the book talk when I'm back on my feet.
I’m so sorry about your health issues! I am praying for you.
That's really kind of you, thank you!
All the best for this tough journey. I look forward to reading your words again down the line.
Thank you, Andres. I look forward to writing again!

I hope you’ve seen a medical professional to rule out a physical cause. Take good care of yourself.
Thank you, Sheri. My GP will no doubt be seeing a lot of me in the next few weeks.
